IBM's predictions of five years from now

5 years from now…

…you’ll no longer be amazed!

What might seem incredible today will be quite natural to most of us five years from now.
Douglas Adams – author of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – explained to us that

    1. Everything that’s already in the world when we’re born is just normal
    2. Anything invented between then and before we turn thirty is incredibly exciting and creative
    3. Anything that gets invented after we’re thirty is against the natural order of things and the beginning of the end of civilisation as we know it until it’s been around for about ten years when it gradually turns out to be alright really.

Since we have gradually become more used to the high speed of development, I believe that we will not have to wait the full ten years to feel comfortable with having our computers do the thinking for us.
